Embratel is one of the largest telecom operators in the country and is part of the America Movil group, leader in the segment in Latin America. To have such a complete and differentiated structure, it offers voice services (local, national and international), data, Internet, pay TV, video conferencing, telepresence, satellite solutions and value-added IT solutions and telecommunications. To ensure national and international coverage, Embratel has a modern network of over 55,000 km of fiber optic cables, 1 million kilometers of routes, 17,500 km of submarine cables and 16,000 kilometers the airways routes. In addition, the company has seven satellites and is building two others, which makes it the largest satellite company in the Latin American region. All this structure makes the Embratel has one of the largest backbones in the world, ensuring quality and excellence unique to its customers.

Description

Embratel brazilian telecom operators, through subsidiary Embratel, provides long-distance telephony, data transmission, television and internet services, as well as satellite solutions. In 2013, its controller, Mexican telecomunications group America Móvil, started a restructuring process to merge the operations of Embratel Participações, Empresa Brasileira de Telecomunicações, and Net Serviços de Comunicação into its Brazilian subsidiary Claro. As a result, Claro took its rights and obligations, including all concessions and permits issued by Brazilian telecom watchdog Anatel.
